This illustrated editorial was inspired by Armani Privé’s S/S 2015 and S/S 2009 collection that showcase an evident reference of traditional Chinese ele- ments such as bamboo, Chinese painting, embroidery, fringes, and pagoda shoulder etc. My illustration mainly emphasized on the bamboo patterns and demonstrated a fun interlacement with shadows. The concept was adopted from a famous poem of Su Shi, one of the greatest Chinese poets in the Song dynasty: “Down there, the yard glittered bright as if from pools of water crisscrossed with aquatic plants, which turned out to be shadows of bamboos and cypresses.”
